    Position Overview:
    The Lead Montessori Teacher will guide a mixed-age classroom of 3-6-year-olds, fostering independence, respect, and a love for learning. The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator with a deep understanding of Montessori principles, strong classroom management skills, and a heart for nurturing children in alignment with Islamic values.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and maintain a peaceful, engaging Montessori environment
    • Deliver individualized lessons based on each child’s developmental needs
    • Observe and document student progress, planning accordingly
    • Foster independence, responsibility, and mutual respect among students
    • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and staff

    Responsibilities Include:

    Position Overview:
    The Aftercare Lead will guide the daily flow of the aftercare program, ensuring a structured, peaceful, and enriching experience for students. The ideal candidate is a confident leader who can maintain consistency, foster positive relationships, and create a balanced routine that supports children socially and emotionally.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee daily operations of the aftercare program, ensuring safety, order, and enrichment
    • Plan and lead age appropriate activities that support social, emotional, and creative development
    • Maintain a peaceful environment and support positive student behavior and interactions
    • Coordinate snack time, rest time, and outdoor play, ensuring a balanced routine
    • Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding student needs and program updates

    The Aftercare Teaching Assistant supports daily routines and helps maintain a safe, positive environment where children feel supported and respected. The ideal candidate works well in a team, brings patience and consistency, and enjoys working closely with children.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the Aftercare Lead in daily routines, activities, and transitions
    • Supervise students during play, snack time, and rest while ensuring safety
    • Assist with set up, clean up, and organizing materials as needed
    • Help guide students in managing emotions and practicing respectful communication
    • Offer individual attention to children when needed, supporting emotional and social growth
    • Uphold classroom expectations and school values consistently and gently

    Substitute Montessori Teacher

    Substitute Montessori Teacher
    Children’s House (Ages 3–6) or Lower Elementary (Ages 6–9)

    Position Overview:
    Mishkah Academy is seeking caring, dependable, and flexible Substitute Montessori Teachers to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. Substitute teachers support our Children’s House and Lower Elementary classrooms in the absence of lead or assistant teachers, ensuring a consistent and nurturing environment that aligns with Montessori principles and Islamic values.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain the peaceful, respectful, and engaging Montessori environment in either the Children’s House or Lower Elementary classroom.
    • Follow the classroom’s daily rhythm and uphold routines established by the lead teacher.
    • Supervise and guide students with attentiveness and care, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.
    • Support student independence, concentration, and love of learning through positive, developmentally appropriate interactions.
    • Collaborate with classroom staff and school leadership as needed.
    • Provide continuity by following lesson plans or classroom guides provided by the lead teacher.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with young children in a Montessori or similar child-centered environment.
    • Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and classroom practices.
    • Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to changing classroom needs.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Alignment with Islamic values and commitment to nurturing the whole child — spiritually, socially, and academically.
    • Availability to work on short notice is a plus.
